Racism
46 Answers
After an incident at work today I'm wondering how much racism is incited by ethnic minorities. A guy at work was having problems with his pc. We have one IT guy to serve the whole company and his nickname (well known to everyone) is in reference to his 'I'll get round to it at some point' attitude. The guy who was having problems with his pc after a while stated that if he was white, it would have been fixed by now. This was most definately not said in jest. We all know this to be completely untrue, it could have been anyone and it wouldn't have got fixed any quicker. Is this something that happens often and if so why? ( (this isn't meant to cause any kind of offence to anyone, just something that's been bothering me)

Elvis, yeah I have a mulitcultural extended family, Black brother in law & nephew, white nephew with afro hair, several "very" black relations through this family. Lots of half Spanish & Spanish, then there's the Irish, and on the other halfs side Manchurians!! and Australians.
Blimey, some family you got there curiosity!
I`ve had some good discussions with my mate regarding race,he and his family/friends see people like Trevor Phillips,Trevor McDonald,Frank Bruno,Diane Abbott etc as "puppets" for the TV industry because although they are black, they don`t represent the black communities but they are used by TV executives as a PC gimmick

Had a black boyfriend once, and must say, that according to him a lot of his problems were due to his colour.
Him losing a job had never anything to do with his constantly being late.
People not liking him were always racist, not just fed up with his big mouth and arrogance.
If a cab did not stop for him, it was because he was black, not because the driver maybe did not see him, was in a hurry, had somewhere else to go, was off duty, or whatnot!
Also his brother for many years was very rude towards me, since he did not like a 'white' woman in the family.
(and all they do is talk about whilte racists)
So I don't deny that racism exists, I think it is also often used as an excuse to cover up ones own faults.

One of my best mates is black and he has told me about how often he will experience a racist encounter and it is almost everyday! Like a mother and child crossing the street! But he doesn't see it as a problem. He doesn't have a chip on his shoulder and he doesn't mind me taking the mick out of him. He even says the country is too PC!
