mor time, but it is not difficult to understand men.
The Upanishads say that woman's mind is unfathomable.
"Our two minds .... One is an act of the emotional
mind, the other of the rational mind. In a very real
sense we have two minds, one that thinks and one that
feels" (Daniel Goleman, Emotional Intelligence,
Bloomsbury Publishing, London, 1996, page 8).
The Upanishads call the emotional component of mind as
Chitta and the rational component of mind as Manas. In
general, women excel in Chitta and men excel in Manas.
Men have the ability to transcend the limitations of
Manas and activate the higher component of mind Buddhi
(intellect or wisdom) which deals with philosophical
thinking. Very few women can activate this component.
Women are rarely called 'intellectuals'.

Well, I think both genders have their wonderful and not so wonderful sides and in the ideal case each has a bit of the other. Although I truly love being a woman, I have in my time done many things that would normally be a man's thing, i.e. taken my sons fishing, doing a lot of DIY, changed the spark plugs on my car etc. Yes, men and women are very different, but these differences can compliment each other, if we just let them. They don't have to fight against each other. I have a wonderful man in my life, who most of you know on here. Hi RATTER darling! And yes, he does have a feminine side, but he is none-the-less more of a real man than most men I have ever met!
Trinny, we don't always have to understand our opposites. Some men are very difficult to understand and so are some women. Just put the effort in and try to understand your man and in areas where you can't, either give a little or if this isn't an option, just do your own thing. In as much as you need to respect his way of thinking, he also must respect yours!!!
