Why does waxing make the hairs grow back thicker and eppilation, which is really the same thing (pulling the hairs out) make them grow back softer and less of them?

Waxing makes them grow back thinner and finer too. It because they are new hairs that are growing, rather than the blunt end of a shaved hair.

Eventually after years of waxing, your hair will stop growing altogether on the area as all the roots will be "killed"
it's an urban myth about the hair growing back thicker
its because epilation feeds an electrical current into the follicle, gradually "killing" it over time. waxing just pulls the hair out leaving the follicle intact.
