Depression after baby...
Hi, just wondered if anyone else had suffered from depression before having their baby and then recovered from it?? I have suffered on and off for years and years(they think It may even go back to childhood) and am still on a low dose of Prozac but after having my baby last Sept I just don't feel it like I used to. I mean I still get stressed and worry but the proper depression side of things seems to have lifted. I find it all rather odd, lol. Maybe its because I have a purpose in life now and didn't before- I don't know...your thoughts?
Cheers in advance

I suffered terrible depression after the birth of my first child. It lasted some time but I have to say I didn't realise that it was post natal depression at the time. It wasn't until she was about 9 months old I realised what I had been suffering from. My husband could not understand what was the matter as I was crying all the time and finally I spoke to my Doctor but I never had any medication. Speaking from my own experience yes you do get over it and if you have someone to talk to about it do so, it really helps to talk things over. Enjoy your child every single minute. I look back now and wonder where did time go both of mine are grown up now. Look after yourself.
