OK Im waiting for my boyfriend to come home at the moment to take babyCRX to the GP but in the meantime
Ive just changed babys nappy and noticed he has a few pink/purple blotches on his lower legs.
weve all had a cold this week and hes still a bit snotty but acting as a normal toddler (22 months old)
Under glass test half of the blotches disappear but some dont.
Im taking him to GP in about 10 mins, just wondered if anyone knows of any rashes that dont disappear under glass

Is he shying away from light, does he have a stiff neck, does he have a temperature? I think it depends on how hard you are pressing on the glass as well. I am not saying that it isn't anything serious, but in the absence of any other symptoms he is probably fine - have you tried NHS 24 - if they are concerned, they will get you an emergency appointment at A&E to save you hanging about - What about phoning the GP back as well?
a&e is definately the best option, and always trust your own instincts it is true that a mother knows best, My son , now a healthy 10 years was admitted to hospital with suspected meningitus when he was 5 months old, he was discharged the next day with a chest infection, 4 days later he was readmitted as the doctor agreed with me that there was something wrong altho was definately not meningitus, 8 hours later there was a panic on the ward when the rash started popping up all over him, i was told later that it was the worst form of meningitus possible and if i had been at home he probably wouldn't have made it.
I really hope that every thing is ok with your little one redcrx but i strongly believe it is better safe than sorry

for all others that replied and sent their best wishes, i didnt see them until i returned from hospital at 2am so didnt reply lol
Baby crx was checked by GP and told unlikely meningitis, we were sent to A&E (shouldve been paeds) and waited there before before transfered for blood tests in paeds.
Blood tests showed no sign of infection at all and after 8.5 hours we left for home.
There were a couple of things that came up during his tests so we do need to return in 2 weeks but baby CRX is fine and dandy with no infection and the blotches went by the time he got up saturday morning.
