A pointless exercise this latest vote I think as it does not give any age ranges. I think all 4 could quite correctly apply depending on the age of the child in question. I would certainly be happy to leave my 16 year old for half an hour playing on his PS3 whilst I wander next door. Am I evil incarnate?

I think from a legal point of view, a child in this case is classed as under 14 years old. So you are quite correct that the question is badly worded. I would not have left my 1 year old for any thing longer than a few minutes and only then if necessary. However, do you need to similary watch over 12 and 13 year olds?
