Bad Ear..=(
4 Answers
For about three weeks now i have had a vibration in my ear..its not so much a 'noise' but more like i am hearing something on a very low frequency..at first i thought it was someone using a tool outside but when no one else could hear it i realised it was in my ear..
i havent been to the doctors yet because i dont know if it is something trivial?..just wondered if anyone else has had this before and if you possibly know what it is?
thankyou. Hollie x

Like you it was a dull, industrial hum. The noise would come and go, at varying volumes, but was most noticable at night. One of the strange things that I had, was, that if I tapped the back of my head, the noise would momentarily dissapear, then return.
Doctors couldn't really do much, tried an anti-vertigo drug, with no effect.
It has eventually waned to a point where I don't even notice the occasional buzz that still happens.
Sorry to say, it's taken about four years for most of the symptoms to go.

Hi turkey154, I agree with the others that this could be either debris in the ear or tinnitus. I would ask your practice nurse to syringe your ears for you. This will get rid of any debris and if the condition remains, then have the doctor look at it. It will most likely be tinnitus. Not much can be done about this, but it does usually go away on its own. Best wishes, hope you feel better soon. :o)
