Must admit I got a bit of a fright myself but I do find them to be really cleansing, love how fresh the air becomes after one!

I remember being in a church in Perth WA (1980) & there was the most amazing thunderstorm going on outside, which was lighting up the stained glass windows! I was shaking & crying, even though my husband & daughters were trying to reassure me that all would be ok. Then it happened - the lightening struck the roof spire! The noise was terrifying & it took me ages before I would venture outside again! The hailstones were more like golf balls, rather than marbles!
Bigmamma - My sister used to live in Morecambe, Cleethorpes, then Grimsby, Lincs (but has lived in Perth WA for 25 yrs now). She's 12 years older than me & I remember spending many a school holiday with her & having fun on the beach, riding on donkeys! :o}
My nephew lives in Nth Hykeham, Lincoln.
Sorry Skreechboy for going off track!

Ha, ha, thanks Skreecheeboy! I hope it turns out to be an interesting dossier!
Bigmamma - we very nearly emigrated to Australia after our 6 weeks holiday there. We also spent a few weeks in Sydney with my husband''s sister & family. We fell in love with both places, but I just couldn't find the bottle to sell up & leave my dear Mum, Dad & family at the time.
My husband & daughters have often wished we had have moved out there - 'specially with all this rain, he, he! Having said that, they wouldn't have met their other halves & we wouldn't have the 4 wonderful grandkids we've got!
A bit more for your dossier SB! ;o}

I absolutely love thunder and lightening and the sound of rain lashing down. My bedroom looks out over the sea and an island off the coast and it is great fun to watch as the storms coming in. I love to go up to the top room with a cuppa at night and watch the lightening light up the sea and hear the thunder as it comes closer and closer. Fascinating!!! We also get the most beautiful sunsets here. :o)
