I agree to a point with most of what has been said, I am not sure about the class or race issue being a factor, I really don�t know enough about them to judge � I know they are doctors but that just means they are professional, not necessarily toffs doesn�t it? I think exposure has more to do with the fact that they were on holiday and complacent enough to 'let' this happen, and originally it was seen as a warning to anyone who goes to these places to consider the safety of their children. Fortunately many of us do, but of course there are those who don't.
Anyway, another thing I have pondered in my intermittent exposure to the headlines is, and I am a father who wouldn�t dream of leaving my child out of my sight, if they have already lost one child � wouldn�t you be so befuddled and distressed that you would never even consider letting the remaining children out of sight to go off to several different countries. They seem very content to leave them with people/family etc whilst jetting all round the world, but my gut instinct would be that they stayed at my side every single moment � I just find it a bit odd that they are prepared to constantly leave them behind.
