Yes if I use the toilet int he shower room downstairs as it is next to the front door... Just incase someone unexpectedly comes home... but if I am using the upstairs bathroom then no.
When you have children, you get in the habit of having company in the loo and i guess you just get out of the habit of shutting/locking the door. No-one in my house locks the door and they only shut the door when absolutely necessary.
We are 4 and 3 of us only shut, virtually never lock, door when 25 yr old is home. He has high standards and tuts a lot. If he didn't live here we would walk around naked more often too!
Never lock the door although I suspect Mrwarpig does, wonder what he is up to??? When I lived alone I left the door open wide 'cos I could see the telly from the loo!
Don't even shut the door since the advent of kids - as the click used to alert them that you were captive, they'd sit on the bath wondering why you don't want to have a major conversation with them. Or even worse run amok knowing they had a two minute head start.
I don't lock or even close the loo door as invariably one of the kids will want to wander in.
The only time I ever lock a door is when I'm having a bath and tackling my bikini line. I don't mind the kids seeing me have a wee but would hate them to catch me doing my contortionist act....plus they'd grass me up to Mr Overall for using his razor.
I always lock it if I'm having a Donald Trump as my toilet is next to the front door and it's the first room I always visit when I get in and I'd rather not scare my flat mate if he came home unexpectedly. Sometimes have a Lillian Gish while he's using the mirror or brushing his teeth and vice versa though.
I don't lock the door - our new house doesn;t have a lock, but will get one - wiffe and teenage daughter, so we like our privacy.
I do find even if I'm staying in hotels alone, that I put the seat down after use - it's so ingrained having grown up with two sisters, and having a wife and three girls, I simply do it without thinking.
