Weight training with the right diet will add lean muscle mass. However If you eat more food than you need for you life activities like training you will also add fat. This includes health foods. Too much and you will add fat!
Purchase an Accu-measure body fat caliper (EBay) that will help calculate what your weight increase or decrease is attributed too. Muscle or fat increase/decrease. The calipers measure body composition.
Calipers are the most effective way to measure your body composition at home.
As stated previously total weight is unimportant when weight training. Its all about body composition. You could lose lbs of fat but add those pounds backon in muscle and you would stay the same weight.
Search AB for other posts I and many others have made about diet and training.
