is it normal to feel a bit uneasy about meeting an x very soon after it finished (even though amicably) as friends and for it to feel normal???? ie. it freaks me out a bit - or am i a neurotic.

Yes, that is why they are called ex's and why things didn't work out and why too you can tell them how much your life has moved on since you split up.
Hi crimples, it is boumd to feel a bit funny, but if you split up amicably there can be no harm in it, whatever happened was in the past and that person will forever be a part of your life and what makes you who you are, you are not being neurotic just cautious, which is natural,
I am meeting my first ever girlfriend later this year, I haven't seen her for about 35 years, she is alovely lady but when we split we were very young and it would never have worked, but she will always be special, you can at least chat about how things have turned out and if you don't get on you need never meet again, Ray
Crimps, i understand !
I sucessfully avoid my first love for 3 years .
Last week it shattered , bumped into him in a shop, next thing he over helping strip the wall papper in my flat . . . .

3 whole years of forgetting about him and wham now i back to square one .
Butterflys , feel all funny inside , cant eat , sleep ,Nothing! Thats why i still live & kicking at this mad hour on a wed nite! if i had only not met my ex again i would be in my kip sleeping like a baby. Good luck ill be thinking of you
if you didnt feel funny then it would mean you hadnt cared about them.
