Please does anyone have experience of an eczema / dermatitis cream remedy named Freederm HC? There are many references to it on the Internet - it sounds like a 'wonder cure'. I'm a little suspicious but thinking it might be worth a try. It is said to contain only natural ingredients and no steroids. Available from a US address but I've found no information about who actually produces it. Thanks for any info. PS. I am under NHS care but so far without much success after 6 months.

at a guess i would imagine the HC stands for hydrocortizone, and therefore is only an emoliant. which will do ****** all for eczema if its getting really bad. when my eczema flares up i use betnovate ointment, which is a steroid cream and you can ask your doctor for it. you really can tell a difference with that cream straight away. there are many lotions you can get for eczema, but unfortunately it is just trial and error! if you dont want to use any steriod cream, and want to go all natural, try things like adding porridge to your bath! take a clean pop sock and put a handful of oats in there, tie it off and tie it to the tap so the water runs through it. its very soothing!
i can't say b*gger? oh my days...

Thanks a lot hotpink. I had Betnovate which helped for a while but the improvement didn't last. I just love the thought of porridge oats in a pop sock tied to the bath tap .... really must give it a try.
hc usually stands for hydrocortisone, which IS a steroid, despite what the first poster has put
alright smarty pants
i wasnt just trying to be smart, just to give CORRECT medical information!

Oh dear - didn't mean to start a fight! Thank you both for your interest. I have printed a page about Freederm HC off the internet and intend to take it either to my doctor or local chemist to see if it is obtainable without having to order it from America. Hopefully more news later.
if the freederm which is supposed to be a wonder for treating spots is anything to go by i wouldnt waste your money or time as it was no use nor ornament and was quite expensive for what it was, dont know how the freederm for exzema will work tho

Seems it's a case of patience and trial and error. Anyway thank you all for your replies and interest.
