i haven't yet....i officially had my last ciggie on Saturday night - have been fine...struggling a bit today though!!! Have chewed my way through two packs of chewing gum!!!!

i have noticed the smell - had to wash ALL of my coats and jackets. people smoke out the back of office and it smells so string and so bad today!!!!!
Havent tried the nicotine gum but think i might!!!

I know its terrible but i am dreading going to the pub again! I am trying to avoid them as i am a smoker, even more so when i am drinking. It really will be a different night when me and my group of pals go out, half of us are smokers and it will be very weird... I know how bad it is for you and also for people around who don't smoke but i just don't think i can give up... i will be spending long nights outside in the cold and rain i think! The only good thing i see is that it might help me cut down slightly... but feeling quite down about it really. Am dreading the weekend. sorry to be so morbid about the subject but i just don't see how i can give up....anyone else feel like this??

you dont need it, just willpower. normal gum will do. I guess its quite good you cant smoke in pubs now as thats what gets the people trying to give up every time

I went to the pub last night & it was hard but not as bad as i thought it was going to be. I didn't smoke as much as i normally do & i didn't enjoy being in the pub as much as i used to & all the smokers outside were moaning about it but i thought it would be worse

exactly - come the weekened and you have a drnk in your hand its to hard to say no! and i'm much to lazy to keep going outside to smoke 0 esp in the recent weather! walked past some pubs yesterday and everyone was hovering outside with umberella! Not my idea of fun!!!!!!

I went out last night & i felt a bit lost once i bought my first drink - nipped straight outside for a ciggy and had a good laugh with the other smokers. I sort of forgot abuot it after a while and just enjoyed the night - i only nipped out 3 or 4 times so i really cut down too.

i only smoke when im drinking (which is twice a week) the rest of the week it does nt bother me at, i am dreading the pub scene though purely cos i smoke loads upon loads of roll ups while im there.
My local has nt done a damn thing yet which seems a bit weird as the land lord and lady smoke like troopers.I can see im going to get very wet and cold.........and in the winter, well i think hibernation will be the best course of action! Boooooo to the ban !!!

Wouldnt be harder though going into a pub for the first time after quitting if they still allowed smoking as ooposed to going in and nobodies smoking in there anyway?

I actually gave up March/April and found it easier than I thoguht it would be....and going to the pub now will be even better for me!

just a quick related question, don't know if anyone will be able to answer but... at clubs where you queue and pay to get in, do they have to let smokers out and back in?

The ban still applies to clubs sophie, they will probably stamp the back of your hand or something similar so they know you have already paid.
