Hmmm, i heard on the news that 6 of the terrorists arrested yesterday were docotors. Dont doctors have to take some sort of oath to pledge to try to save life, no matter what?
I wonder how they decide which oaths take precedence, Loosehead - surely they could not in conscience have taken the second oath (whichever one it was)?
One other possibility of course is that they are not guilty of anything, being merely Brazilian plumbers; I'll wait and see. A few people have been arrested in recent years in relation to terrorism and then released without charge.
Mengele studied medicine and got an academic doctorate at Frankfurt University (which they revoked in 1964, a little late); he also had a PhD in anthropology. He was a researcher than a practising doctor - it was basically research he was doing at Auschwitz - so I don't know if this makes him a 'real doctor' or not.
Hmmm, next you will be saying doctor who is a bad guy.
The fact that is scary is that doctors should be there to protect and serve people, not try to kill them. They are supposed to be educated. Thats why they get paid so much money, sign passports, etc...
One of the doctors is an Iraqi. Aren't we currently at war in Iraq and it is full of 'the enemy'? Isn't is that a bit lax to say the least? Don't remember an influx of German doctors between 1940-45.
One thing...before we all jump to conclusions - some of the doctors have been arrested because of mobile phone records from two of the suspects were traced to them.
in theory, Gromit, it is full of our 'friends' whom we have liberated from the tyranny of Saddam. I think this doctor may have been in Britain since before the war, though I'm not sure; so he might be a refugee.
