A girl round the corner from me has had her baby and called her adorable little girl Beyonce. Why?????? I havent been so stuck since a friend called hers Belladonna Tuesday! Any other names you have kinda pulled a face at before you said "ah, thats lovely"?

I don't know what posesses people to call their children names like this- do they not realise the years of beatings these kids are going to get at school saddled with names like Beyonce?

Before Mini Boo was born, we spent months debating names, and I'd really set my heart on the name Poppy as I thought it sounded oh so adorable (what? Hormones, ok!!) however, luckily Mr Boo soon changed my mind by pointing out that as cute and adorable as it may be on a 3yr old, it might not be so suitable on a 30odd yr old when she grows up!

i heard someone shouting at their kid in a supermarket, "Chardonny get here!" thought that was quite bad but then read this book of "Factoids" (from steve wrights radio2 show) and one in there was about an american couple who called their three children Kitchen, Bathroom and Garage after the rooms they were conceived in, that's gotta be the worst!

when naming my son back in '03 the babies names book stated that the second most popular name for a boy in 2002 was jesus, wtf. does anyone know apart from the obvious anyone else named that?

My sister's friend recently had a baby girl. She told my sister that she really liked the name Katie, but she couldn't pronounce the 'T' without sounding like she was 'posh'(!) So, she called her Kadie. Kadie-Leigh-Jade. Seriously.

It's names like that that make me have to bite my tongue!

Jesus is still a popular name throughout alot of Europe. Joshua comes from the name jeshua (with the J pronounced Y) which is also where jesus is from (so I've been told). In Europe Jesus would be prononced haysues

my maiden last name is
leibensperger. i know about being teased for a name. everyone would call me cheese burger girl. nobody could even say my name. i was so happy to change it when i got maried. o'donnell is much better!

God! That was a really boring answer and what I meant to say originally was (not that much more interesting!), though it's a normal name I never really liked the name Elliot at all (I think there was a boy in infants who used to scare me called Elliot), when I met my boyfriend I asked what his son was called and it was Elliot! I usually have a vert violent reaction to the name but because I fancied my now boyfriend I pretended it was the lovliest name I could ever imagine! (and now I know his son I genuinely believe it!)
