I took my 4 year old to McDonal;ds today as it's his birthday, as we were enjoying our meals a group of about 6 14-15 year old girls came in, ordered some diet cokes and sat near us, as they wre chatting away using foul language they started to burp loudly, then, as a resut of the copious amount of diet coke comsumed, they started a f4rting contest, it sounded as is every cotton sheet in Britain was being ripped`up!!!
Dear AB ladies, is this the kind of things you did when you were teenagers? has society changed so much since I was a lad? or am I just a prude?

I have always told my sprogs that should they float one in public they should say pardon me etc and that it is not generally acceptable to force them out for a laugh.

However my 7 year old came home from school a few weeks back and said that her teacher Miss XXXX farted in class and whilst she was embarrassed just blamed her curry from the night before as she wafted it away- Kids have got no chance really have they ! Sigh

Nope not farting but did used to buy shandy go up the park and have burping contests :-)

A while ago i was in a card shop and this man bent over and let the loudest ever one go. Within seconds the smell had filled the card shop and everybody had left. I was the only one left in there because i had a blocked nose so could not smell it. All he could do was pretend to look puzzled and look around like it wasn't him.
The good thing was i skipped the long queue that was waiting at the counter.

I have to say though we never go in Macdonalds for the simple reason it always seems to be full of these charming types. My 9 year old prefers a paninni in Costa Coffee, you get a better class of peasant in there lol!

John - That is absolutely disgusting behaviour, 'specially in a restaurant, let alone anywhere else! Would be bad enough for boys to do it, but girls too.....!

I'm so glad our daughters & grandchildren have decent manners & show more respect for others than that lot! I'm not saying our's are perfect angels, nobody is, but at least they know how to behave in public.

BTW - we call it 'fluffing' in our house! ;o}

I remember in a book shop once finding a joke book about farts and when I opened it it started farting really loudly. I couldnt get out the shop quick enough

When people do that in public I always wonder do they do it in front of their parents or Granny ? The club that I'm a member of banned a bloke for 3 months as it was not acceptable behavior to stand and the bar and let rip . There is also a foul language rule and a dress code which all the members have to abide by so the younger members stick to it or they are out the door . As it's a small town they all want to to go there as the entertainment is good , so rules do work . No you are not a prude it's the parents not teaching them any manners or respect for others .

i wouldn't have stood for that at all, i would have been telling them to stop after the first few words and if they decided they didn;t like it i would have been calling the manager and asking him to remove them, it is (alledgedly) a place where you consume food (allegedly). I never put up with kids messing about like that and demand some kind of civil order from them, i have shown many a kid up, mainly my own actually lol
