Found out 2 days ago I'm keith cheggers which I'm really excited about. Have been to the doc and have had some good advise but I've been thinkin that I could possibly be more than 4 weeks. I had a period 30 days ago but it was really strange. Although heavy at first it only lasted 1 full day and I've been feeling so exhausted for about 6-7 weeks now, I've had indegestion, fluctuations in appetite etc. However I did a test 3 weeks ago and it was negative. Also, over the last week or so I've had a really bloated stomach (lower). Anyone got any thoughts on this? Thanks

When you have your first scan you will be given a better idea of how pregnant you are and when the baby is due.
Lots and lots of congratulations to you!
Congratulations, mountainboo! Just go with it, your body will be taking care of everything so you just take care of yourself. You could always do another test in a few weeks if it'd put your mind at rest? As things progress, the midwife will be able to date things more accurately - you can even ask for an early scan to get a spot-on date if there IS a question mark over your lovely bump. They all NEED to know just as much as you WANT to know!!

Get plenty of rest, and eat as healthily as you can. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat - it's an amazing process, so take time to enjoy every last second, you lucky, lucky girl! xxxx

good luck boo!!!, btw I dont know where you live but where I come from (midlands) someone I know recently was told that they have scrapped the 12 week and 16 week scans due to costs. they only do the 20 week scan now!! is this true for everywhere???

the woman I know was concerned because she has had several ectopic pregnancies, the hospital knowing this still insisted that she wait for the 20 week scan...its madness!!

Thanks to you all. When Midwife contacts me I shall ask for an early scan as going on hol for 3 weeks in august, and i guess thats when my first scan is intended. It's hard not to worry. I'm a real worrier anyway, but I will try my hardest to relax. Thanks again ; )
Congratulations mountainboo!!!!!!
Cazz - They still do 12 week and 20 week scans in Telford and Luton, so maybe it just depends where you live.x
Norfolk and suffolk do 12 and 20 weeks scans, the 12 is important as it is also a check for Downs syndrome markers.

Ask to speak to your surgerys midwife now and explain the situation as they may want to get a dating scan done soon instead.

congratulations!
Congratulations mountainboo!

Like it has been said, you will get a much better idea when you have your first scan normally done around 12 weeks. In the meantime, if youre tired, just rest whenever you can, eat well and keep the fluids up and hopefully this will help with the tiredness. Dont forget the folic acid! :)

In kent, they still do two scans......12 and 20 weeks also.
The 12 week scan is only given if you want them to test what the odds on you having a Downs baby are. However the scan is usually given before the blood test so if you dont want to have the test just say you do have the scan and then change your mind when it comes to the blood test.
it all sounds such a palaver these days, just go with it and have the babe at home if possible, it is brilliant, fitted carpet and your own bathroom ! lol
Ebbs it is different where I am. We have to say at the time of the first scan if we want the extra measurements taken or not for the indication of high risk of downs syndrome. We would still get the scan if we opt out of that. The first scan mainly is to give you a more accurate due date, to see if it is a multiple pregnancy or not and to check for early pregnancy failure.

I would guess it is the same pretty much everywhere else too.
