Has anybody with persistent back/spine problems used both an osteopath and a chiropractor, and if so, which practicioner gave them most relief?

I have used both an osteopath and a chiropractor. I thought the osteopath was the best thing since sliced bread until I went to a chiropractor. I have been with my chiropractor now for over 2 years, I go every 6-8 weeks for an "MOT" on my back. After my first course of treatment (12 visits) in 2004, my wife said that I seemed like a new person. I know that they can be expensive, but for peace of mind and being free from constant back ache/pain, I think it well worth the expense. I pay 25 for a 40-45 minute session.
Hope this helps

That's interesting because I've been seeing a chiropractor for about 15 months now and the current fee is 32 for 10 minutes! However, suffering from long-term back problems I do feel the benefit and after some visits walk out feeling I've got a new back. Other times the effects have not always felt so noticeable, which made me wonder whether an osteopath would provide more long-lasting effects. My upper back gets "locked" very regularly, causing a persistent full ache, and I was wondering whether a chiropractor and an osteopath would treat the problem differently and whether one treatment might be more long lasting than another.
