I havent been to a harvester restaurant for years.
So we went for lunch there today.
Firstly, took 15 mins after we were seated to have someone take a drinks order.
Then we had soup, my partners was cold so sent it back, then we had to wait 25 mins with empty bowls in front of us for them to be taken away.
The waitress put the sauce pots on our table and they were half empty and covered in dirty finger prints and sauce!
My partners food turns up and so did the garlic bread, i then had to wait 15 mins for mine, an d when it turned up, had never seen anything like it in a restaurant before. Had ordered spaghetti bolognaise and it looked and smelt really awful. Picked a bit of the top, and it was really bad tasting too! Waitress then came up and said they wouldnt be charging me for my meal because of the wait. I wouldnt of paid for it anyway because i just could not eat it! It jst sat infront of me and well eugh!
At the end of it, we paid and the whole episode and the food left me feeling so sick, even my partner said to me to wait to get to the bush in the car park before being ill :(
Had to stand outside the car taking deep breaths to stop being ill, only just managed to get in the door before being very very sick :(
Has any one else had a meal like this in one of the big chain restaurants? Im in 2 minds as to wether i should complain to the head office or not, as i didnt have to pay for my meal. Im also not one to ever kick off about anything!
Do you think it will be worth it?

sorry to hear about your bad meal! I think it is definitely worth complaining to head office. I always do and always get a quick response and usually a free meal next time I go back (although in your case you probably wouldn't want to!)
I have moaned about less things than that and got around 20 to 25. I do think you were unlucky though in Harvester I have been there several times and the food and service has been reasonable
Hey!You might get a free meal if you complain:-) Seriously-
I would.I would write a letter, arterall, you went to eat because you were hungry and them being a restaurant should have provided for your needs-they didnt,at least not to an exceptable standard.

Thanks for your reply tigwig, i was actually meant for this to go into body and soul, so thank you for not being so quick to say, wrong place! lol!
My friend at work said they went their last saturday night and it was bad, but she said other then that they had had no problems so i thought that would be a 1 off.
I want to complain, but if all im going to get is free meal vouchers, i dont see much point as we definitely wont be going back there!

Maybe i should write and ask for a refund as i had paid for the garlic bread, soup and 2 drinks for myself, and afterall, that was wasted when i was poorly :(!
we went to a harvester near us a few weeks ago and the food was awful. we complained about 4 outta 6 of our meals and got them knocked off our bill. i would complain even though you got your money back. mind you they could send vouchers for another meal and would you really go back? I know i wont be not until satan skates to work !!!!!!!

The poor waitress even apoligised for my meal 3 times! when she gave it to me, when she took the completely full plate away and when we were paying!
I think she knew something was very wrong, not just because of the wait as she didnt apoligise for that, she said sorry about your food!
I didnt want to moan and have a rant at the waitress as its not her fault, but the food was hardly warm, and ive smelt better when feeding my pets!
Why let the food leave the kitchen in that state?
