I have been on Depo contraceptive injections for about 10 years. My last one was due in May this year. Does anyone have experience of stopping Depo, how long did it take for your periods to come back? Or how soon did you fall pregnant?

I keep getting a fluttering feeling around where my ovaries are, could this be the start of my periods coming back?

Hi newlywed

From my personal experience, it took me 5 months to have a period (after 5 years on the injection) and another 2 1/2 years to fall pregnant after that. I was told they should come back within 3 months, but if you're concerned, I'd have a word with your GP
