Why is it that I can detect when a television is on standby? There is a strange sensation in my ears when I enter a house with a television on, or on standby.

My husband is very sensitive to Electro Magnetic emmisions. We tested our house recently and it makes no difference in the output of emmisions wether the tv is on or on standby - you really need to switch off the plug at the wall before it really makes a difference. Other ones to watch are your PC especially the side walls of the main box and also your microwave.

Plug in airfresheners are a big cause as are phones that the hand sets are not connected.

There are loads of websites that give information on this.
