So, if you could live your life exactly how you wanted, what kind of a life would that be? Remember the series (The good life) That would be my ideal, well, having enough money to get by & being able to grow your own fruit & veg successfully. A life opting out of the daily grind, watching the fruits of your labour flourish. Living in the countryside, with all those little country lanes, riding my bike that's stuck in my shed & not seen the light of day for years, cause I'm not brave enough to take to the main road! I wouldn't mind living in a little community of like minded people even. So, how about you?

Kp - If I had the land, yes! :0)
Will throw in some land for free as well
Oooh, a country commune skyep :)
If I can bring my dog, I am THERE! We live in a beautiful area in the south of the Lake District: my street itself isn't great, but we are so close to incredibly beautiful areas. I was coming back from a trip to Chester Zoo with some young people around tea time on Friday, and watching all these stressed-out people in their office outfits and shiny cars, and they looked so peed off. What kind of life is that? I don't think any kind of money is worth that kind of stress. I am happy to sacrifice big money in order to be happy where I am. I won't be staying in this area forever, but I would never move into London or similar: a cr*p lifestyle and paying for the pleasure?! No thanks!

Just to be doing what I love, and being around family and friends, is my dream. Oh, and a quiet life! What a good question Skyep :)
Fairly similar to you, but on the west coast of Ireland where the fishing is great. Would need the odd modern convenience and a gorgeous like minded country girl, but not much to make me happy! A smallholding with a few animals and no money worries or hassle.
I came from the countryside and long to return. Like most others though, I like getting a fat pay packet so I can buy guns and fund expensive children. Eventually I want to live on Salisbury Plain, around Netheravon, for the limitless bike rides and sweeping views. The American Cemetery at Tidworth is a favourite haunt of mine. In the meantime Mitcham Common has some quiet corners and I have 4 tomato plants and 3 chilli plants going crazy in the conservatory.

Hi leela, I have a friend living in Florida, she has land & a couple of horses, we often dream about this way of life! She has a part of the dream, but still has to go out & bring in the money as she hasn't accumulated enough money to sit back & relax. Think we have the same dream leela!
I would live in a beautiufl cottage in the countryside
( somewhere like Cornwall or Devon) with a man i love and my children. Local shops, friendly little village, a great school and enough money to be comfortable .

whiffey - I think somehow you will realise that dream one day!
Countryboy - I think most people would seek this kind of lifestyle given the opportunity!

Hi unrulie - Don't we just live life to fast to take the time to appreciate the things around us! Groundhog day !
I'd just magically have no mortgage and enough money to be a lady that lunches : )
Somewhere overlooking the sea, which is what I have at the moment, but lots of acres where I could open an animal sanctuary. Don't crave lots of money, just enough to be comfortable
I live in very rural Sussex , you try riding a bike around the lanes , as it's full of 4x4 drivers towing a horse box , as they have moved from London and "That is what one does " not a clue about driving in a lane and having to give over to the oncoming traffic . They buy the children a pony , it has to be kept in livery as they are to busy to look after it , so that is all sorted , the livery love it as they are so gullible , not a clue , make mega bucks !! They don't know a fetlock from a forelock !! There is a good life in the country but you have to work at it . I would try an allotment first , as gardening is hard graft , but we now have loads of runner beans and toms !! I hope your reach your dream x
I'm really lucky that I live in the countryside in Cornwall, even if only rented, just moved into a lovely country cottage in a little hamlet with no shops except the farm shop up the lane, loads of wildlife, no crime, people that say hello and a stream and creek out the back of my garden. Getting there, just the lottery to win now!
