Giant Moths and average size flies

For the second year ont he run we have started getting massive moths coming in if we leave the windows open in the evening / overnight. They only come in when the light is off though. We opposite a park and there are a lot of trees about (we also get a lot of small flies if we have a light on and hte wondows open at night!). Any recommendations on how to keep them both away? Citronella candles don't seem to be doing anything, and I dont want one of those electic things that zap the flies and spray fly juice everyewhere!!!!
