I don't know of any magic food- but anything that makes it shrink sounds horrible to me. I think you are simply eating the wrong foods! You need to eat low GI food that will fill you up and make you less likely to want to snack. The first few days of a diet are always the hardest as your stomach grumbles in protest against not being fed it's usual amount. After a week it should settle down.
Try eating lots of wholefoods, oats, rye bread, oatcakes, wheat-free pasta, brown rice, and lots of vegetables and salad. Cook from scratch every day.
Look at Carol Vorderman's detox diet. You basically just eat the "right" type of foods without weighing and calorie counting and get used to eating until you are content (not stuffed) and listen to your body's signals.
This will also give you loads of energy and make you feel healthier, unlike a lot of diets that keep you on processed foods or even worse, milkshakes.
