sometimes when my big long-haired girl grooms herself, her fur gets caught in her teeth. I have never actually seen it happen...but I have found her with her head twisted to one side, unable to move because the fur is twisted or trapped in her teeth! Has anyone else had this happen? is there a solution short of clipping her hair? She never seems distressed and, tempermental madam that she is,she is always ok with me sticking my fingers in her mouth to loosen the fur.
But my dog used to get the loop from his name tag caught in the fibres of the carpet and he'd get stuck. It is hard not to laugh but it used to confuse h*ll out of him. I got rid of the loop and name tag.
Maybe your Princess is trying to undo knots - that would explain why she is using her teeth instead of her tongue.
Yes-she(we!?) does have an invasion for which I have just had her frontlined, but still not sure why she would get her teeth caught in her fur!(or vice-versa) She is long-haired so certainly has her fair share of knots.
