pale patches on my eyelids
4 Answers
I have small areas on my left eyelid and again just under my eye where the skin has lost its pigmentation. These areas are also slightly raised.Does anyone know what they are and how I can get rid of them?
I did go to the doctors a while back and she said that sometimes they just occur and sometimes they can be due to high cholesterol,(she tested my cholesterol and it was fine,so that was that),but it still bothers me.
I have had them about 2 years now.
Does anyone have the same thing?

then they are Xanthoma - fatty deposits - and can be removed but preferably by a doctor at the clinic - using acid.... totally painless (the injection to receive the acid is more painful than the treatment - just a little pin prick lol). However, the underlying cause needs to be dealt with first or they will probably come back - so good for you to have had your cholesterol checked. Why not go back to your doctor and ask to have them removed as they are not very pretty! I had them for years and in the end I asked my GP to sort them out and I had them removed in one simple half hour session at my local hospital. You would not know now that they had ever been there !
