Does anyone know of a website that details social care polices that deal with children in care or vulnerable children?

can point you in direction of resources for Scotland, other areas of UK have different legislation and policy. Is Scottish information suitable?

tp://www.scotland.gov.uk/library5/justice/amoi-31.asp As I work in mental health advocacy (adults) I come across many child care issues, but dont really get involved in the policy side of things,unless criticising them of course. There are many resources out there. You could phone the local social work department and speak to duty worker who could give you list of resources. Try to contact a big voluntary agency, my best bet is the children advocacy projects in the second link. I do have lots more info, but to be honest I am dying on my feet, please post another reply and I will do what I can to help you tomorrow

thnaks for your answers. Gerry babe problem is my teenage sister> i'm still trying to get to the bottom of it but it seems she doesn't want to live at home anymore. Seems to be step dad issues involved. I don't want to gointo too much detail. I wondered what her rights/what the process is?

she has lots of rights, and children's advocacy worker could sure help her to voice them. If there was immediate danger to her she would be taken into safe care of some description, but is usually an extreem measure, her age and level of understanding and maturity also. She needs someone to talk things through with. Will post more later need to go out for a while. bye for now FTVS
