Lebanon - Serious Question

This is a serious question!!!!! My girlfriend and I have been offered a free holiday with my girlfriends Lebanese friend to Beirut, this summer. My girlfriend really wants to go, however at present I believe that it is not the right time to go with all the current problems in the Middle East. The Lebanese friend syas that we will be fine and there is no trouble in the Lebanon, which I believe is probably true. I want to ask fellow Ab's if they have any experience of travelling to the Lebanon as I believe that it is an amazing country but also what everyones view is to travelling there at present as the reviews and advice are very mixed on the internet at present. try checking out the home office website for places to stay clear of at the moment in the middle east, if the Lebanon isn't on then don't give up this once in a life time opportunity!
