well its my birthday tomorrow and there ya go have no plans, rang manfriend to ask him across for dinner, just told me he has a meeting tomorro night, oldest son dont know whats appening there, the youngest havent seen him in days, and always has no money! so i could have worked should have taken up the offer cos no one gives a s..t!

Ok if you haven't much funds, if the weather is nice tomorrow get out in the garden and soak up some sun. Pop to your local bakers and treat yourself to a lovely cream bun (or whatever your fav thing is) Join the library (it's free) hire a DVD from library (about �2) and buy a bottle of wine on your way home. All this shouldn't set you back much more than a tenner. Have a lovely hot bath, get a take out (shouldn't be too much as it's for one) then settle down and watch your film perfectly relaxed :o)
Make the kids go without something this week (esp if they don't get you anything for your B'day) so you can splash out a tad on yourself lol it is only once a year after all!

Forget the rest of them and just do something for you. I know you said you didn't have loads of money to spare, but why not get your hair cut differently, or coloured?? I LOVE going to the hairdresser's and still see it as a treat - boosts your self-esteem for days!! (That way, also, if your chappie has any surprises planned you'll be looking fabulous already...)

puddicat, I think if you've been together 18 months, even on and off, putting a present in the post is a bit unreasonable.

I think I'd get out the lipgloss and pop out and about on my b'day, even if it's just for fresh air, you never know who you may meet!!
