adrenalin

Where in the body is adenalin produced? What always sets it off for me is either if I get cut up on the road, or oncoming traffic coming on my side of the road [after effects from car crash back in 1999]. Is it the body's way of calming a racing heart down?

Although, the adrenal glands (or, suprarenal glands) are located at the anterior (front side) extremities of the kidneys and are commonly known as endocrine glands, other such ones are the thyroid, parathyroid, pituitary, thymus & pancreas. These are all known as ductless glands that secrete hormones directly into the bloodstream.
If you had Cushing's Disease (you would be a dog tho..!) it is possible to remove the adrenal glands with a procedure called an Adrenalectomy, survival of the dog is possible due to hormone implants.
If the dog just had the glands removed and no implants, it would drop dead within a matter of weeks.....
Hope this helps a little..
