The wedding was upstate in the country and we stayed at a small resort for the weekend. A good time was had by all. We saw each other whenever he was in NY. This went on for a couple of years. No strings, no tears, it just sorted drifted away. Saw him last year at a b-day party for one of the kids from the couple we stood up for. He was separated at the time. Nothing then. It was fun while it lasted, but was one of those things. Would not say no to a visit, but heard he got back with the wife, so no go.
i went to Cyprus with my friend when i was 18, i met a squaddie, he was based out there, the Dhekelia Garrison if i can remember rightly, i met him on my 2nd day out there and spent the rest of my holiday with him (i didnt leave my friend out as she was with his mate!), He was from wigan, when he had his leave i went to stay with him for a weekend but it gradually fizzled out, he was lovely though!
First trip abroad when i was 20-went to Bermuda with my best mate. We hooked up with a couple of Austrian guys who were working in the hotels there. They prob thought that as Yanks we were 'easy'...I know I wasn't...don't know about my friend! We spent the whole week on the backs of their mopeds seeing all of the island.......except for one letter from Hans(that HAD to be his name, right?)never saw them again.
