Do ovulation sticks work?
5 Answers
My husband and I have been trying for a baby for approx 4 months. This month, I decided to use ovulation tests every morning for the week I'm supposed to ovulate in to pinpoint what day it happens. Anyway, the first few days were a definite negative with only one pink line on the test. I then had 2 days with one dark pink line and a slightly lighter pink line. I thought this was positive, but the packed syas this is also neg!! It then went back to one pink line. Has anyone used these things? I'm now worried that I'm not producing any eggs and seeing a Dr on Monday. I did post this in "Pregnancy" but I don't think many people read the posts there. I would really appreciate your advise

Oooh, Irish Mary you just confirmed my fears!! I did notice that whilst we were away last weekend, but didn't do anything about it as the bloody stick said negative!! Missed the boat for this month I guess. At least that implies that I DID actually ovulate, which is reassuring. My periods are regular, but sem to be longer than the average woman's...about 32 days
Hi scoobysoo
I too have been trying for about 5 months and have become quite good at pinpointing when I'm ovulating. For me, I get a discharge that's clear and I feel that I'm coming on my period. This is usually 14 days after the start of my last period. The rule of thumb is 14/16 days after start of last period. You only have this time to get pregnant, but doctor told me that a helthy sex life of around 3 times a week should increase your chances.
Good news is that if you think you've missed the boat this time as you did have a discharge, chances are stong that you are ovulating and producing eggs. So don't worry honey, we'll both be pregnant before we know it!
