I was made redundant in May from my workplace, as work had become so quiet, and it was a case of last in first out.

Although job hunting, and a couple of interviews, I am still jobless.

I received a letter from my past employers asking me if I would come back to help them out over the Christmas period. Part of me, wants them to stuff their offer. But of course the money is really needed.

Would you swallow your pride and take the offer?

they are just users if they use those tatics
be yourself and go forward in life

zig_zag, I think they want me back, because I know how to do the work involved, and to be honest, it would save them advertising and training someone new, for the sake of a few months.

I would also like to think I was liked enough. But that may just be my ego struggling to get back!

It's easier to get a job when you've got one. Accept if you need the money, but point out that you will need time off as and when to attend other job interviews ... point out that the lost time will be less than that spent trying to train someone new to achieve your current level of expertise! I was involved in recruitment for years, I think it's a compliment ( as well as a convenience for them ) that they asked you back.

My definitive advice re agencies is that you blitz them all, you trawl the papers and web sites yourself too. No one will know all your skills like you. Some agents will place quickly and innappropriately if they think they'll get a commission out of it. Don't do any thing you don't want to. Find a mate in Management and find out what CV buzzwords they like to see. Get a good , main CV drawn up and then tweek as approriate for the position you are interested in. Anything else just give us an oi ... good luck.

thanks sense, I think my skills need updating. So I tend not to go to the agencies for fear of looking an idiot.
