We did it - it's tough. I still do it, on my own now, but I've had to go out & get a job as well. It's a lovely life, albeit hard, especially when you have to get up at 6 in the morning, in the winter when it's snowing or solid ice outside, because you have to do the livestock before you go to work! (After you've cracked the ice on their drinking water and humped a few bales of hay out for the sheep!) You don't get any early nights in the summer, either, even when you're kn*****ed, because you have to wait for the chickens to go in, so's you can lock them up for the night. Despite all that, would I change it? Absolutely not!!! I'd go nuts living in a town or having to put up with neighbours, and at least I know what goes in to the food I eat.
