Several people noticed that green names appeared so darn similar to the grey ones as to be all but identical. It is only by very close scrutiny, or viewing the page source that you see what is going on. The danger is that green names eventually go grey and then we enter the realms of the sinister. It is a serious defect in the AB registration process that allows characters from outside of the 'standard' ASCII set into usernames.
I like funny aliases more than most, but in my view this site is now almost too dangerous to use.
I have been impostered several dozen times, but being impostered by an imposterer is not the same as someone having 400 user names, as the 400 usernames would be totally random and not impostering names of other ids,
weeal it's so annoying isn't it. I e-mailed the technical team earlier and asked them if the registration could be set up to one IP address per user. Although someone could still come on and just be an imposter and not a normal user too. I just don't understand who is who anymore!
I do find it surprising that you, of all people Whiffey are worried about the impending furore. If you encourage the creation, you have to deal with the consequences.
Thanks for the morality lecture Stewy. I enjoy aliasing when it is harmless, for example anybody can see that whiffey_1 is different from whiffey, but this time it is dangerous and I am no fool and would never encourage the fostering of ill-will or harm.
There was no morality lecture Whiffey, but you have openly admitted your enjoyment of mischief. People out there with far greater programming knowledge than you or I, have, perhaps taken your game to the next level.
You helped create the mischief, take some responsibility for others following in your footsteps.
I am now finding all the impostering very boring, there is no need for it. I am me and always will be me. Any time I find the need to disguise myself on AB then I will go away and find something else to occupy myself with. Some people on here are making it verey difficult to know who is who and I am finding it very childish.
You starting it wasn't my point Whiffey. But if people have seen you playing your fun alias games and have taken that game to the next level, then you are also culpable.
Just because you haven't used your knowledge for insults, doesn't make you any less guilty of breaking Site Rules.
