Toothache

I got my tooth out last Monday but have woken up this morning with .. well its like toothache but in the socket. I have rinsed with salty water but its really sore. Has anyone else had this?

It does sound like an infection you will need antibiotics from your doctor real soon as it can get really painful.

if you cant get into the doctors before monday consider walk in centre if you have them, start taking ibuifen (not sure on spelling) its best for dental pain

Sounds like you may have an infection as another aber pointed out.
If your face begins to swell then it could be an abscess. If the pain gets to much call NHS 24 as you may need antibiotics.

Have just got back from the dentist. The socket had an infection in so she cleaned it out (which wasn't nice) and gave me antibiotics. I hope they work soon. I couldn't tell you the last time i have toothache but it's really sore.

Hi, it may be that you have something called dry socket. It happens sometimes following tooth extraction and is awfuly painful. Your dentist should have checked when you went back, so if you are not pain free soon I would go yet again and ask for more advice. Toothache is most horrid, I hope you feel better soon.

Not the same pain but similar, I get a lot of ear infections and the only OTC painkiller that touches it for me are Paramol. Always handy to have in for times when the usual paracetamol and ibuprofen don't help. They're not cheap but they'll give you a day or two until your antibiotics get working properly.

Funny you should say about your ear as i now have one very sore ear. Its on the same side as my sore tooth. Not having a great day.
