what is the difference between adults and children

In terms of mental powers. I know a 6 year old kid who seems more clever and incisive than some adults. Is there really a fundamental difference?

normally children who show special skills (mathmatics/memory ect..) are normally only good at one specific thing, they are average in other area's or even lacking sometimes.

Adults do also possess these types of special skills as well , sadly they are often limited to one specific skill (maths,art,memory ect..)

there is no fundamental difference only that the child is what the adult used to be...
