Ouch !! I am sat here trying to keep my language sweet enough in front of my dog as I have just bumped into a chair and have a large bruise appearing down the length of my shin. It is rather throbbingly sore . What can I do to help stop the bruise getting worse ? Any tips ? :-)

elevate it and put something cold on it?
when the bruise develops you can put witch hazel on to draw out the bruising

Thankyou for your swift reply pinkkitty , I will do that , not sure where to get witch hazel though .:-)
Arnica cream is great for bruising bm1, and you'll get it in Boots these days. One of the boys did just what you've done just a few weeks ago. He was standing on his chair and fell forward, while his chair fell towards him. He scraped his shin so hard it had blue paint on it, mixed up with lots of weepy sort of blood - ouch! I put arnica on it and there wasn't really much of a bruise, and I'd been expecting one because it was very red aswell as bleeding. Poor sausage! Poor sausage to you too - hope the rest of the week gets better from here on in! xx
Arnica is brill but cant be used on broken skin mamma

Oh bless , nutgoneflake , your poor little boy ! Amica cream , that sounds good , I will get some in for the first aid box too. I haven't broken the skin weeal so it should be alright to use. Its just a huge blue briuse . It may have bled a bit more under the skin with me being on blood thinning tablets . Thankyou for the hug. :-) xx
