baby grape fell on to the computer chair leg and has cut open his top lip, lots of blood and very swollen he has now gone to sleep
do i take him to the doctors etc

if hes only cut it and its stopped bleeding then probably not unless its very deep, poor little lad.

If hes gone to sleep then he cant be in much pain either but perhaps if its hurting him later then a dose of calpol with help.

He may be too young for an ice lolly to ease the swelling but thats what i used to get when i was a kid.

no he never has morning naps and he didnt wake til 9 this morning so he wasn't tired

Awww bless him , there always is loads of blood from any injury from the face and head isn't there ! As recrx says , if it doesn't seem deep enough for the magic glue then let him sleep and see how he is later. Children have remarkable healing times and he will be right as rain in no time. :-) x

get advice from there, did he bang his head too or just his lip? It may be that hes fallen asleep from tiredness from crying or he was already tired (hence the falling over into chair)

i would think that the fright has caused him to go to sleep - sounds strange i know, but the stress has just worn out his brain - i am sure that he is fine, but best to phone just to check - can you get a good look at the injury while he is sleeping?

Lips bleed profusly (sp), if he banged his head and is now asleep get him to a medical facility ASAP

hi all spoke to nhs direct and health visitor yep every thing okay

i panic when theres blood involved
And i'm wearing a white t-shirt so it looks so much worse
Baby grape is now awake and re organising my dvd shelf for me

Its always worrying when they hurt themselves and as john said lips bleed a lot! babycrx bit his last week and produced a lot of blood, we couldnt even see the hole
