Hi,

Planning to start trying to conceive at Xmas. I've been advised by the nurse at the GP's that when I stop taking the pill, in acticipation of this, I should start with the folic acid.

I've now stopped taking the pill (using other means for the time being!), should I start the folic acid now, or wait til closer to the time we are trying to conceive?
Thanks..

take it now. there might be a better chance of you falling when you want. hope all goes to plan.
good luck
I was advised to start taking 3 months before we tried to conceive, which I did. All was well with my kids.
start taking it now.
FA only stays in system for 24hrs so dont forget to take it regularly.also if family history of nural tube defects ask about higher dose FA to help with this.
