Spotting during pregnancy
I am 12 weeks pregnant tomorrow. I had a scan last Thursday and everything was normal and fine then on Friday afternoon I noticed some blood after I wiped myself. It was very light and this quickly turned into like a brown discharge which was also very light and only mainly when I wiped myself. It stopped yesterday morning and I havent had any major tummy cramps or anything. i went to the early pregnancy unit yesterday the gynaecologist did an internal examination and said everything looked fine, Im booked in for a scan this afternoon but I am so worried something is going to be wrong. I have been resting since Friday with my feet up. I still very sick, tired and my breasts are still sore but I am so scared to go for this scan in case something is wrong. Does anyone have any answers or advice?

As for the spotting, there are many women out there who have experienced slight spotting and gone on to have perfectly healthy babies so please try not to panic. I know of a mother who has bled throughout the 40 weeks and there was no actual problem. It doesnt make it any less worrying though, i realise that
The fact that the spotting changed to brown means that whatever was causing it has stopped. also the lack of any pains is a good sign too obviously.
spotting can be caused by a few things, and is not just a sign of loss. It can be cervical erosion which is fairly common. Did you have intercourse before? its been know t cause slight spotting.
also if you are suffering at all from constipation and piles then you can bleed from that and with such small amounts be unsure as to its origin.
You have had a scan already at 12 weeks and all was well and the odds once past 12 weeks are much better so please just try and relax until your scan later.
Im pleased to see that theyve booked you in so quickly.
Good luck
