Stud or Sl@g??

Why is it that if a guy sleeps with a 'fair few' girls he is known as a stud... yet if a girl sleeps with a 'fair few' guys she is known as a sl@g?? How sexist is that!!

You are right ! One of the apprentices in the office here is "a bit of a lad" but i have started to call him a "$lapper", "male $lut" and "wh0re" in the last few months just in the name of equality of course.

I think times are changing and as you grow up you realise that a guy who sleeps around is in fact a male tart and just as bad as a girl who does the same. I think the reason people think like that is that conventionally women dont go around sh@gging loads of people while men "sow their oats". I think men who sleep with/have slept with loads of girls are gross.

The interesting point to me, is that women are much more likley to be critical of another women and call her a sl@g if she sleeps around, than men are. So does that make women more sexist in this example than men?

i think it's mainly because it's always been 'ok' for men to be with more women. but also because women who are 'sl@gs' are sleeping with guys for the wrong reasons - the guys go after them and they sleep with them as they have no self esteem and was validation. guys usually are the predetors and are usually doing it because they enjoy it. i think that there can be male and female 'sl@gs' and male and female 'studs' if you wanna call them that. i see nothing wrong with being with lots of people if you are careful and are not doing it for the wrong reasons... i am more like a man when it comes to this i guess then! think samantha from sex and the city... ;)

I find it sad that we are so still so victorian about sex. It isn't "dirty" or wrong. It is a very enjoyable past time. I would never judge anyone who had slept with lots of partners, except to wonder if they were actually looking for love not sex. Like someone else said, a person's sex life really is no one else's business.

Men are genetically programmed to sleep with as many women as possible to improve their chances of producing children. So, it's in a man's nature to try sleep with lots of women. Women however, are genetically programmed to be with just one man, who as a hunter will provide food and warmth for her and her child. So it's down to simple genetics.

I agree it's a totally meaningless comparison. The trouble is, in British culture and probably worldwide, it's always been such a challenge for a man to hook a woman then the more he gets, the more successful he becomes. But women just have to sit in a bar for half an hour in a nice dress (or whatever the 2004 equivalent is) and they can usually take their pick. Hence the opportunity to become 'easy' and as there's no challenge whatsoever, no status attached to it. What a sad world it is.

Its because women are taught from a young age not to own their own bodies and their own sexuality bc it is a threat to men's power in a sexist world. Thus many women fear their own sexuality and bash women who are more open with thier own... I think out of jealousy. Men bash it in order to keep men in power. Some women have sex for the wrong reasons and most if not all virgins are abstaining for the wrong reasons. If you are against women who have lots of sex buy a vibrator. When you finally understand the power and beauty of an orgasm you will understand why women should and must own thier own sexuality!!!
