The middle classes are causing severe damage to their bodies according to surveys. Drinking wine almost every evening is causing irreversible damage. The constant press surround Binge Britain where youths are drinking excessive amounts has made headlines, but this is reported to be just as serious. What do you think? Do you drink most evenings thinking that this is a safe way to unwind or are you aware that several drinks in the evening, although you may not feel drunk, is causing liver damage?

I enjoy a bottle of Buckfast most nights, its made by monks in Devon and is full of medicinal properties.
It also gives me a spiritual uplift, helping to confirm my beliefs.
I live in a classless society.
What's buckfast? Sounds very dodgy.

Oh I agree. There are many classless members in this society. But perhaps I misunderstood your definition.
Buckfast - the drink of choice for young studenty types and underage drinkers, because it is high alcohol at 15%, sweet and cheap.

Not sure which are the health giving properties from the ingredients:

Sodium glycerophate
Dipotassium phospate
Caffeine
Disodium phosphate
Methyl vanillin.

Can you enlighten me on the medicinal properties?

Ah, ta for that Ethel.
Add some strong cider, and you have a really refreshing drink.
Hey cambus, I'm quite partial to a bottle of buckie as a warm up myself, on occasion! It says on the label, "The term Tonic Wine does not imply any health giving or medicinal properties" haven't you read the label before? I always try and get a low number, more of the good stuff... and vanilla....
I can imagine it would work well with K cider actually..... rocket fuel!
Ethel, I can't enlighten you much further, I can only go on what the monks have told me.
I don't think they would lie.
Gets you drunk so you can't feel any pain. Especially useful if you're sleeping rough.
Skreech, no time to read the label.
Can't get it down quick enough!
I take it this means no one fancies a cup of tea?

I have cookies too.
Fresh cream cookies?
Fresh cream cookies?! What cookies do you eat that have fresh cream in them?!??

You can have either orange and cranberry or chocolate brazille nut cookies. I also have ice cream (for my throat, it's medicinal).
Think of a roll type thing, about the size and shape of a tennis ball, sliced open and filled with cream, sometimes with strawberry jam added.
That's a scone cambus and belongs in the cake family.
A scone is flat. This is round!
Isn't a cookie a biscuit?

LIke that ^^^^ ?

Looks like a reject scone to me... I bet you don't say scone right either!
Yep, a cookie is a biscuit but a scone is more raised than a cookie.
