Travellers - where do they go ?
63 Answers
Once again the local common has been invaded by 'travelling people'. On this occasion they broke down the sturdy road barrier to a cul-de-sac. They are still there after a week, apparently the council can't act quickly because they are on a Highway rather than on the common. Once again I suppose when they have eventually gone we will find the usual heart-breaking piles of building rubbish and human excrement everywhere.
My question is, where do they live/go in between evictions ?

Thanks j5 :(:(:(
Where do the implied large majority of good travellers live then ? On EVERY occasion that travellers have invaded the common they have left filth and rubbish behind them. Do we just get the bad ones ? The first time I made the big mistake of cycling on a public footpath running through the infestation. I was set upon by dogs, and had to pedal like a maniac to escape.

the good ones are in the minority.
we had a family move onto our industrial estate one year they asked if they could collect wood from our land (others stole pallets etc), they asled if they may have a bucket of water (other fixed hosepipe to our outside tap).
They also warned us of a large convoy of travellers heading our way and helped us barricade the site as 30 carvans turned up.
They stayed for about 6 months, were great caretakers of the site.

we have a proper travellers site, and all have to go to caretaker to be allowed onto it and live there. But saying that its still in a state and the shower blocks that were built for them are being used as storage. well behaved travellers are proper gypsies not like the pikies that stayed near out work and sh!t behind the skip
A couple of years ago we had a couple of travelers in our company car park. It was quite entertaining everymorning the "woman" of the camp would squat down and do ones and twos in the middle of the car park. Or she would shout abuse at us all. Obviously we would not park our cars in the car park.
They were there for about a week. We tried to get the council to evict them but they said as it is private land then they would not do anything so we had to get a privade baliff firm to evict them. The next day they had set-up camp in the council car park!! Hee hee. They left a heck of a mess (Especially the woman).

This is what we had to put up with last year a few hundred yards from my house.

A couple of years before that incident there was some sort of Gypsy religious gathering nearby too,I was working in an off licence that summer and the custom increased by about 75%,so did the shoplifting. We had to double staff the shop at all times, they used to bring hoardes of kids in who would try to distract you while the parents knicked whatever wasn't nailed down. They even broke into one of the charity shops overnight and stole clothes and household goods. These were Eastern European Gypsies and much worse than own home grown ones.
