Hiya folks.. Well although I went to a private business college in my youth and went on to be a book keeper things didn't quite work out the way it should. So I always had to have any jobs that came along just to pay the bills. Well in the past 11 years I have been in and out of retail, ie local shop, Trafford Centre and then I looked after my aged mother who then died. Anyway as I am in my late fifties it is very hard to get back into the work scene. Well I have an interview on Monday at the local bakery for a part time position just serving in the shop. Can any of you lot give me any advice as I have lost a lot of my confidence and although I am not applying to be Head of ICI it is very daunting for me.
Aww youl be ok puss... just a smile and a" good morning " when a customer comes in the shop is all thats needed , bet youl be chatting away to the regulars before you know it
Well done you pussnboots , it must be hard to get back into the work force in a new type of job . All I can say is that you will find the strength for your interview on monday , just walk in there as yourself and try to think positively , don't be nervous , if you can hide it at least . I wish you all the best :-)

retail is crying out for people like you, reliable, flexible and understanding the value of customer service, it is the life skills they are after, you have those in abundance.
Hi pussnboots,
Are you sure your CV does you justice?
If I was in the position I would take you on like a shot.....
Maybe you should get a couple of friends to write it for you, your qualities outweigh your academic achievements, and you are forgetting your life-time true to life experiences.
Any prospective employer would be lucky to find you honey.
Aww thanks you lot I know its daft and the bakery is in the village were I live so I know nearly everbody, but I always feel that the question will come up as....why do you want this job etc...my reasons are
1. A bit of pocket money
2. I am going stair crazy doin nothing
3. A reason to get up and go out in the morning.
4. To talk to others etc apart from Mr. Puss
which of these reason would you give as a good answer,
5. Because I would be an asset to your company with my dedication and comitment.
6. I am used to dealing with all kinds of people and am a comunicator.
7. I am a hard worker and would see this as an extension of my own achievements.
8. You would be a blllllody fool to pass me by.........
c'mon puss you know your worth.
Imagine you were selling somebody like yourself to somebody else..... put yourself out there.
The interview is a nonsense, you know you can do that job. You would be a great employee....... please have faith in yourself honey. We have.......xx
