Just seen a news article on Look North saying that the number of incidents of spiked drinks has gone up by 150% since the smoking ban.

My question is this, who the hell is dumb enough to leave a drink unnattended these days to go our for a tab?

I mean, come on, there was a massive campaign aimed at women to prevent them from being women, telling them not to leave their drinks.

I don't wicsh an attack or rape on anyone but I really weep for the future if there are people dumb enough to do this.

I know that in one of my local pubs you aren't allowed to take your drinks outside as they have no beer garden and there is a bylaw in force that means you can't drink alcohol on the street. If you wish to go out for a ciggie you have to finish your drink first.

Exactly Daffy.

Whenever I'm out with my mates, if anyone needs to go out for a tab or head to the gents, someone holds the drinks.

Or, we finish them first.
Its not rocket science.
If you are stupid enough to put a cancer stick in your mouth it only figures that you are stupid enough to leave your drink unattended.

dove gives alijangra thumbs upxxxxxxxx
I have never left my drinks unattended, but had one spiked a few months back! It can still happen when it's in your hand.
Why are all non smokers so smug???
Because we are not sucking on a poisonous, foul smelling, carcinogenic pieces of crap??
Of course you are, every time a car or other petrol/diesel powered vehicle passes you in the street. As long as my smoking doesn't cause you any harm you have no need to slag me off for a habit I choose to have.I don't ever smoke around non smokers and have always been considerate of them.
Have to agree with you there Daffy.
This is yet another example indicative of the sick world we are living in. It is no wonder we are all paranoid. ID theft, dont take your eyes of your child for a moment for fear of them being snatched, be careful what you say at all times in case you say something which is racist, sexist, xenophobic etc. Need I go on? Things like this should not be happening. Its no wonder there are so many depressed people. I think this person using the word dumb is a bit harsh.. Not everyone is streetwise, and a lot of people are just naive.

I presume by 'this person' you are referring to me persianlady?
Surely it is nothing to do with being streetwise or naive, it is just common sense.
You don't leave your car unlocked with the engine running while you do your shopping, you don't leave your brand new Telly on the front lawn if you go on holiday and you don't leave your drink on the side in a night club.

Sure, there are certain mistakes that people make which can be put to down to being naive but please.

I thought people these days were meant to be smarter?
