There is a guy in my office who has the most horrendous BO ever, it's disgusting, it's like a mix of fish and onion bhajies. I've tried asking him about his personal hygiene without being obvious, but short of telling him that he reeks, what can I do?

HR, personnel, could step in on this, but as he didn't have such a dept it was suggested another woman tell her. Can see it might make a difference to get the same sex to have a quiet word but it is a job for someone tactful who can get the message across in a kind and helpful way.
His problem may be caused by lack of hygiene, diet, or he may have a physical problem requiring a chat with his GP. Whatever, he must be told for his benefit and his colleagues. He may well be mortified he has this problem.
Have met a couple of smellies in my time and they dont seem to respond to hints, or in the case of a girl at school, loading her desk with lovely products or, finally, a 'you stink' notice. Kids can be so cruel!

Could be his clothes, does he look unwashed? Or does he wear a suit everyday? If he wears a suit chances are it is rife with odour and bacteria and would need to be dry cleaned, also if its synthetic then it will encourage him to sweat more.
I am afraid you are just gonna have to tell him, good luck with that.

rofl wotsits, I guess thats your answer then! Sorry but that is funny. I guess he hasn't got it washed or dry cleaned, but look on the bright side it could have been worse, it could have smelled of old man and pee.
Personally I wouldn't have a problem wearing a dead persons clothes, but I would always wash them first!

tell him it smells its going to go one way or the other! he probably will be embaraced but grateful that somebody was honest with him instead of getting bad vibes from everyone thats probably making him paranoid. Tell him, i would, and if he gets offensive then tough, its not a good thing to work so close with someone that smells.....
