Gillian Gibbons - International Diplomacy
What actually happens ? It seems that the British Government is pi$$ed off with the Sudanese, how shall I call them - gibbons. But what happens. Is it an email, a phone call ? Does it say 'Her Majesty's Government disapproves of etc etc'
What actually goes on behind the scenes ?
Sorry about the gibbon dig. NOT.

It certainly is not our wish to foster any animosity between our Sovereign governments by issuing this note, and if it tends to cause umbrage we sincerely hope, yes insist even, that you disregard it as being utter nonsense.

Hello Republic of Sudan,
We are the British Government. We used to be a Super-power. You may remember us, we used to rule over half the world, but no longer. We used to have an empire, a credible army and a bit of say in how the planet was run. However, that is no longer the case.
Now, we have a bit of a difficult situation at present, If you are not careful, we might have to write you a very cross letter. We cannot back it up with sanctions or military force because you are an oil rich nation, and our army is bogged down on a futile mission elsewhere.
Many ABers are saying that your nation should be nuked and your people subjected to genocide because you are followers of Allah. We are very angry with you, and are a bit tempted to do this, but our masters, the US of A will not allow us to do this.
If you would be so kind, can you not just deport the thick scouser, and we will call it quits.
Your very humble and grovelling servant,
The British Government

Dear Sudanese Government,
Yes, I know that one of our citizens broke one of your laws, but the tabloids have been stirring it up again.
Anyway, this letter is to say many thanks as it has taken all the heat off our government's **** ups - I mean look at AB - in the last week there have been several postings about your treatment and bu99er all about the loans to the labour party, the Natwest 3 who stole millions and of course the personal data that we lost.
Aren't the British public thick - I'm trying to get an amendment through at the moment to get people locked up for 56 days without the need for a trial and there is hardly a whisper. You charge someone, have a trial, find them guilty and lock them up for 14 days and there is a national outcry.
Anyway, thanks again, and next time we mess up I will give you a shout. (speak to you next week then I guess)
Sincerely
