Unexplained Weight Gain

In the last 4 months I hav put on around half a stone. I'm not doing anything differently.....not eating more.....not pregnant..............could it be the start of the menopause....I'm 39 this month. Someone else suggested underactive thyroid. Anyone else experienced this?

Hi Sally! Are you on any medication? Because certain ones can cause weight gain
you would have a lot of symptoms apart from weight gain if it was thyroid related
Are you still as active as you was and has anything else changed, ie... are you getting tiredness, headaches, urinating more, etc
The only way for knowing for certain what is happening is take a trip to your doctor. He/she will do blood tests testing things such as your thyroids and diabetes.
Dont worry about it, but do take a trip to see your doctor.
I am 37 and I have found over the past few years I have to be more active to keep the weight off. Apparantly throughout the day your weight can fluctuate around 4lbs that on the scale of things half a stone is not that much but maybe just need to introduce a little bit more exercise.
